How to Get Flawless Eyes from a Make-Up Pro + Giveaway

By: Ivory Perkins of Lady Like Make-Up Artistry

Everyday a cosmetics company comes out with new eye or lip product that is amazing in the commercials but at home in your bathroom it’s a SAT math problem. There are a few important tips, tricks, and instructions that these products fail to come with. But have no worries, I’m here to help you get to beauty fab without the headache with a few pro secrets I use during my makeovers.

If you wear eye shadow or are ready to start wearing them, it’s my hands down advice to invest in an eye shadow primer. Since hitting the market and becoming super popular with pro makeup artist, this product is that one small step that packs a bigger outcome. Ivory, what’s an eye lid primer you ask? An eye lid primer is a makeup product that is built to be used before your eye shadow application, it’ll supports the long wear of your eye shadows by preventing creasing (the oily lining that happens to you shadow throughout the day). An eyelid primer should in my professional opinion be applied to the entire eyelid before any eye shadow application.

There are a huge selection on the market for eye shadow primers, my personal favorite is currently made by ELF Cosmetics. With an affordable price tag of $3, I keep several in my professional makeup kit. Keep in mind that eye shadow primers should be used lightly and blended but still a tad tacky so that your eye shadows can get the best results. As an added bonus your eye lid primer will also allow those eye shadows in your collection that are dull to pop a tad bit vibrant as well.

Check out my step by step eye shadow pictorial, where I feature the ELF cosmetic eye shadow primer. The product used in this pictorial are ELF eye shadow primer, Maybelline’s Eyestudio cream shadow base trio in Rose Revolution, ELF Cosmetics Charcoal eye shadow, a soft flesh toned loose mineral shadow, and a black khol eyeliner.
