Staying Confident & Calm When It Seems Like Everything is Falling Apart

All good things must come to an end, right? After having a somewhat bad week this week I started to think it was true. One day it just seemed like nothing was going right, and I was losing my cool slowly but surely. It got to me because it takes a lot…I mean a lot…to get me to feel like I had a bad day.

The same day I talked to a few women privately who follow Regal Realness, and they shared that they were going through tough times at this particular point in their life. They expressed their inability to remain confident during such hard times. I tried my best to offer some words of wisdom.

The only thing I could think of at the time was this one quote that always sticks in my mind by Winston Churchill, “When you’re going through hell, keep going.” It is true!

There is always light at the end of the tunnel. When you feel like your life is in pieces you have arrived at the best time of your life. I’ve learned that it may seem hard at the time, but it is making you stronger. It is making you wiser. It is making way for new things to happen in your life that otherwise wouldn’t if you didn’t work through the unpleasant times.

Staying confident during life’s storms means you believe that it will pass by. After all, no storms stay forever. They come and go. They destruct, but the aftermath always leaves room for new beginnings. It isn’t about how we make it through the storm, but about how we weather it. This will determine how much more confident we are in our own abilities as women to succeed and overcome obstacles.

So the next time I have a bad day I will take time to reflect on what is happening and what the storm is trying to whisper to me. Obviously it is invading my space for a reason. Wake up calls rarely come when we’ve planned it. Maybe next time I will listen more carefully to what the storm is trying to tell me. Only then will I be able to accept what is happening, and move through the storm with confidence, style, and grace.
